Kamjong is one of Manipur's newest and most remote districts, bordering Myanmar to the east. Home primarily to Tangshang Naga tribes, it is one of the least-visited areas in all of India, offering truly off-the-beaten-path experiences. The Somra Hill Range and the remote Jessami village (known for its traditional Naga warrior heritage) are key attractions for adventurous travelers.

November to March for accessible roads and pleasant weather. Monsoon season makes roads very difficult.

🚗 Getting There

Kamjong is ~130 km from Imphal via Ukhrul. Private 4WD taxi is the only practical option (₹3,000–₹4,000). Inner Line Permit (ILP) required for Indian nationals from other states — obtain from Deputy Commissioner, Manipur.
